Nokia finally announced the release dates for the Symbian Anna software update for current Symbian^3 devices and forthcoming units.
While newly manufactured smartphones, such as the Nokia E6 and Nokia X7, will arrive with the software update out of the box, present flagships need to wait a bit longer for Symbian Anna.
According to the Finnish giant, the Nokia C6, C7, E7, and 12-MP shooter N8 will officially hit the shelves in July preloaded with Symbian Anna, and current owners have to hold their breaths until late August for an official software update.
With the Symbian Anna update, Symbian^3 devices will receive new bubbly icons similar to those of Samsung TouchWiz icons, a full virtual QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode, an enhanced Web browser, Nokia Maps (formerly Ovi Maps) updates, and more.
Most users who were eagerly waiting for the Symbian Anna will find joy in knowing that it delivers a split screen view in typing mode, allowing a user to see the message thread simultaneously.
Nokia is currently working on Symbian Belle, the software update after Symbian Anna.
